Culinary Gems in Birmingham’s Historic Jewellery Quarter

Culinary Gems in Birmingham’s Historic Jewellery Quarter

The Jewellery Quarter might be famed for its jewellery-making heritage but this trendy area now blends artisan workshops with award-winning dining. With 11 standout venues serving curated festival menus, from Victorian pubs to sleek ramen spots, it’s a foodie destination full of character.

Festival Highlights

The WILDERNESS

Chef Alex Claridge brings rock’n’roll fine dining, a bold tasting menu, industrial-chic interiors, and a soundtrack to match. Recognised by the Michelin Guide and holder of three AA rosettes, it’s edgy yet approachable.

Esmies Caribbean Fusion

A hidden gem at JQ pub, Temper & Brown. These guys are serving vibrant home-style Caribbean food with serious soul. We’re loving the option to add a Rum flight too!

Lasan

A multi award-winning luxury Indian restaurant nestled just off St Paul’s Square. Lasan have been in the Restaurant Festival line-up from the very beginning and their festival menu never fails to impress.

Maneki Ramen

The new kid on the JQ block! This is a ramen house with edge led by Chef Pete Dovaston, serving Tokyo-style bowls made with rich, slow-cooked broths and flame-grilled meats.

Txikiteo

A small but perfectly formed Spanish wine bar taking inspiration from all things Iberia. Their flatbreads take centre stage on their festival menu this year, and rightly so!

The Church Pub & Dining Room

Housed in a charming Victorian building, The Church pairs traditional pub atmosphere with modern British dishes. They might just have the best Scotch Egg in Brum too (and it’s on the festival menu too).

Trentina

Fresh pasta made daily and inventive Italian small plates define this neighbourhood favourite. Expect quality ingredients and a menu that moves with the seasons.

Bhancha

Bhancha promises a memorable culinary journey that celebrates the vibrant flavours and hospitality of Nepal. The term “Bhancha” translates to “kitchen” in Nepalese, reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to creating a warm, communal atmosphere reminiscent of traditional Nepalese kitchens.

Arch 13

One of Birmingham’s best loved wine bars tucked inside Birmingham’s oldest wine merchant. Their menu features seasonal small plates that highlight fresh, local ingredients – served with a carafe of wine, of course!

Saint Paul’s House

Set on the iconic St Paul’s Square, this boutique hotel, bar and restaurant offers laid-back dining and a particularly great value festival menu. A versatile spot for any occasion.

Jam House

This legendary music venue has seen the likes of Snow Patrol and Ocean Colour Scene grace the stage but itt is also an incredibly unique location for a delicious meal! The balcony restaurant provides the perfect vantage point to enjoy the show, with freshly prepared seasonal menus and even baking their own bread!
