Neighbourhood dining gems to discover during Birmingham Restaurant Festival
Neighbourhood dining gems to discover during Birmingham Restaurant Festival
It’s not just city centre dining spots in this year’s festival. Just a short tram ride from the centre, Edgbaston Village has quietly become one of Birmingham’s most rewarding places to eat.
Plus this year there are excuses to visit Moseley and Harborne too.
Festival Highlights
Chapter
Chapter might be described by some as the jewel of Edgbaston Village. Its menus are rooted in seasonality, and its kitchen is proud to support local farmers, fishermen and artisans in every dish. Fish is delivered daily from Brixham, fruit and veg from the Vales of Evesham and Wye, and free-range meat sourced from farms the length of the country. This year’s Festival Menu is Chapter at its very best – two or three courses built around the finest British produce.
Fiesta del Asado
Just around the corner, Fiesta del Asado brings Birmingham’s first true Argentine asado experience to Edgbaston. Birmingham’s Latin legend, searing tradition and serving passion, it specialises in flame-grilled steaks bursting with bold, smoky flavour amid a vibrant, immersive atmosphere full of fire.
Pho
Pho Harborne is a healthy Vietnamese restaurant with plenty of vegan and gluten-free options. It specialises in pho, the classic Vietnamese noodle soup, alongside curries, wok-fried noodles and fresh salads. Expect fragrant bowls of delicious curries, crispy spring rolls and zingy salads on the excellent-value Festival Menu.
Greek Aura
Over in Moseley, family-run Greek Aura serves authentic Greek cooking led by a chef with over 30 years’ experience. The 2026 Festival Menu is a generous and delicious introduction to the kitchen. Don’t miss the sun-trap of a terrace, a real hidden gem.
Zindiya
Experience the soul of India at Zindiya, created by husband-and-wife team Ajay & Shivani to bring the vibrant street food culture of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata to their hometown of Moseley. The decor recreates a colourful, bustling Indian street market, with bold Bollywood-inspired touches setting the scene for chai, chaat and gol gappe in a fun, casual atmosphere. The Festival menu offers three courses and a side of some of its best-loved dishes.
Consider this a handy reminder that there is plenty to explore outside of the city centre and Edgbaston Village is an excellent place to start your neighbourhood discovery mission.
